Creating a fusion between modernity and tradition, our approach seeks to echo memories of the past and project them into a modern way of living. Roberta and her team strive to enhance the homes of clients between their 2 locations in South Hams and the home counties.
With a core focus on light, space and art, the small team of experienced and award winning architects, designers, and horticulturalists offer a sensitive and considered service, unique to each and every project. Working in collaboration with LeesMunday architects a complete service from architectural design to interior fit out through to landscape installation can be delivered, easing the process of managing multiple contractors and service providers.
Following her life along love for the outdoors and her creative passion for design, Roberta founded the design practice from the Old Peartree Farmhouse on the Essex/Hertfordshire borders. Together with her small and dedicated team of designers, horticulturalists and her 2 dogs, Jonty and Buttons, they draw on over 40 years of architectural interior and landscape experience to deliver tranquil havens both indoors and out throughout the South East and Devon.
“From a young age I remember being fascinated by the variability of peoples homes and the way they live. From my aunts devotion to her small potager and the fragrance of the roses in summers sun, to my grandads commitment to brushing his velvet carpet and meticulously filing everything into neatly labelled drawers, I soon realised the need to personalise the way we live offers a sense of comfort and security. A sanctuary really”.
Roberta’s style draws on nostalgia to evoke a sense of familiarity and comfort whether it be a winding garden path or a family heirloom in the study. Fused with a cutting edge sense of style and function, and working in collaboration with LeesMunday contemporary architects, her designs offer flair with practicality and a nod to precious memories of days gone by.
‘When I sought to buy my first house I was horrified by the bland uninspiring homes available on todays property market and sought to redefine the way we build new houses’.
Venturing into the world of property development at a young age she quickly scaled up her portfolio, over indulging houses with fine natural materials and considered interiors, something other developers hadn’t dreamt of. It paid off and the demand for her designs grew from strength to strength.
’I saw it as a social responsibility to design homes and gardens that I would choose for my own family to live in, not just bricks and mortar to sell’.
Following her 10 years as project manager/designer for new build properties across the South East Roberta chose to set up her practice delivering a fusion of interior and landscape design to existing home owners. Projects have ranged from uber modern private residences in North London to tranquil coastal retreats in Salcombe Devon and currently a 20 acre private country estate and manor house on the outskirts of London.
